Berger Paints Recruitment 2022: The name Berger or Lewis Berger is now synonymous with paint around the world. But in reality, the origin of the name dates back more than two and a half centuries in England, to 1760 when a young color chemist named Lewis Berger began manufacturing “Prussian Blue” in Europe.  

Using a secret process coveted by every designer and homemaker. Mr. Berger perfected this process and the art of the color blue, which was the color of most military uniforms at the time.

Enriched by the imagination of Lewis Berger, the tireless search for creation and innovation in the world of paints and coatings continues. Berger Paints India Limited history as a company began in 1923 as Hadfield's (India) Limited, a small colonial enterprise manufacturing premixed paints, varnishes and stiff paints.

Installation of distemper on 2 hectares of land in one of India's first industrial cities near Kolkata in Howrah, Bengal. Subsequently in 1947 British Paints (Holdings) Limited, an international company, bought the national consortium of paint manufacturers, Hadfield's (India) Limited and thus the name changed to British Paints (India) Ltd., followed in 1962 by Mr Alfred Godwin.
