The University Grants Commission (UGC) has finally announced the schedule for the first year of undergraduate and postgraduate courses due to Corona. First year classes across the country will start from November 1st. The UGC has given permission to start classes from November 18 as the exams in Maharashtra will end in October.

due to corona this is starting the 2021-21 academic year late.

Entrance examinations for all courses, including engineering and medical, were conducted. The exams have been held recently following a court order. The UGC then formed a committee to plan how to start the first year classes. The committee has now submitted a new report amending the April 29, July 6 rules. However, there has been no change in teaching, exams, social distance.

The UGC has given colleges till November 30 to take the entrance test and announce the merit list or fill up the vacancies. The deadline for verification of student documents is December 31, 2020.

The UGC has decided to start the academic year from November 1 after the committee submits its report on the schedule for the first year. The final year exams in Maharashtra are till October 31, so the deadline for starting the first year classes in Maharashtra is November 18.

This will be the schedule for the first year

1) Deadline for completion of admission process - 31st October

2) First year & regular classes begin - November 1st

3) Academic Holiday - March 1 to March 7, 2021

4)First Session Exam - March 8 to March 26

5) Session holiday March 27 to April 4

6) The second season begins - April 5 2020

7) Academic Holiday - 1st August to 8th August

8) Second Session Exam - 8th August to 21st August

Beginning of the Next Academic Year 2021-2022 - 30 August 2021
