The prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country has led to the holdback of several entrance and university examinations. With just a week left for the inception of GATE 2022 test, campaigners who'll appear in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering ( GATE) have demanded for a holdback.

 GATE is listed to be conducted from February 5 to 13 and the admit card for which has formerly been released. Campaigners can download the hall ticket on the authorized website--gate.iitkgp.ac.in.

GATE is one of the biggest examinations in India in terms of the number of actors. This time, over 8 lakh scholars are anticipated to appear in the examination. 

Scholars have expressed enterprises regarding difficulties in travelling and reaching the test centre due to the restrictions assessed by authorities in the wake of the third surge of COVID-19, prompting the officers to defer the test.

Before, further than campaigners appearing for the GATE examination have joined a solicitation demanding promptness of the reclamation-cum- admission test. 
"With the current third surge, COVID-19 due to its new variant Omicron has spread oppressively in several countries, metropolises.

Several studies including one done by IIT Kanpur prognosticate that the peak of the 3rd surge is anticipated in early February and the surge will end by April. Thus, the peak is most likely to coincide with the usual test dates of GATE,"the solicitation read.

 Still, the campaigners appearing for GATE 2022 run an imminent threat of getting infected and spreading it thereby getting trouble to their life as well as their family member's lives,"it added,"If the test dates aren't heldup. 
The campaigners are relatively anxious as GATE will be held between February 5 to 13. Several scholars took to twitter to raise the issues amid Covid swell. 

GATE, conducted for admission to masters programmes and for reclamation to some public sector companies, is held as an online computer- grounded test. The GATE 2022 paper will be of objective type comprising three patterns of questions-- multiple choice questions (MCQs), multiple select questions (MSQs), and numerical answer type (NAT) questions. For every wrong answer marked in an MCQ, negative marks will be cut, while for MSQs and NATs, there will be no negative marking for a wrong answer. 
 
 GATE 2022 will be held in two places on the test days. The first niche is from 9 am to 12 noon and the coming bone is between 230 pm and 530 pm.
