A fake notice regarding offline examination in all universities for semester exams had been circulating on social media, PIB Fact Check given alert to students. It said that the University Grants Commission (UGC) has not issued any such notice.
“As all the institutions are operating while maintaining Covid-19 guidelines, offline exams can be taken at the home centres,” the fake notice read. However, the UGC has not issued such notice on offline exams for semester exams. Students are advised to keep checking ugc.ac.in for any update on exams.
Also in Recent Press Conference of Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant , He informed that while attending physical lectures and offline examinations , students should be fully vaccinated. Those students whose vaccination is incomplete , they cannot attend college lectures and also the offline examinations.
But both the option i.e online and offline are been given to student . Therefore if examinations will be offline in future and students whose vaccination is incomplete then they can attempt online examination because government is giving both choices to students. The mode of examination will be decided on the basis of covid situation in particular area by District Collector.
Minister Uday Samant Mentioned about hostel reopening that still hostels are not reopened. New variant is going viral in the world and if government decided to reopen hostel soon then there will be chances of third wave. Therefore Government is discussing with experts and after it decision would be made.
Minister Samant also mentioned that in future there won't be online examinations , online examinations was only a precaution but students should be ready to attempt offline examinations
