Infosys and Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Department signed MOU for skill development

The Department of Higher and Technical Education of the Government of Maharashtra has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Infosys. Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant tweeted about it. The MoU with Infosys will benefit 4 million students pursuing higher education in the state. Students will be able to take skill based courses with the help of Infosys, said Uday Samant.

Skill based technical education will be provided
The Department of Higher and Technical Education of the Government of Maharashtra has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Infosys Company to ensure that college students in the State of Maharashtra receive skill based education along with regular education and that new skill based technical education be used by the students for employment.

What exactly are the benefits of this agreement?
The agreement will benefit 40 lakh students and 1 lakh professors and teaching staff. As skill based and technical education will be provided free of cost by Infosys, there will be no financial burden on the state government. Infosys has created more than 3,900 online courses on a variety of subjects and durations.Students will benefit from these courses. All the courses have been made available on the company's online platform Spring Board.

Free course
The courses developed by Infosys will be available to all college students in the state along with free and formal courses.

Initiatives started in two institutes on an experimental basis
The project will be implemented at Nagpur College of Arts, Science and Commerce and Ratnagiri Tantraniketan College as pilot projects.

Computer based courses
Students will be able to take courses in Business Communication, Business English, Economics, Writing Skills, Positivity, Leadership Skills etc. along with technical courses like Computer Programming Language, Cloud Technology, Artificial Intelligence.

Benefit 40 lakh students
A total of 40 lakh students will benefit from this initiative, which will benefit 10 lakh students from 1,600 colleges under the Directorate of Technical Education and 30 lakh students from 3,000 colleges under the Directorate of Higher Education.
