An important decision was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to start the college. Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant informed that the college will start functioning from October 20. And soon Government going to release the guidlines for the examinations. Also Government released SOPs related to the functioning of offline classes in colleges.

He also underlined that students need both doses of vaccine. Different regulations have been issued in different districts against the backdrop of the college starting from October 20. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Construction Minister and Secretary.

The authority to start more than 50% of university college classes has been given to the local authority, said Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant. He was speaking at a press conference.

  1. Classes would be filled only up to 50% capacity at a time.  
  2. As of now, it is advisable to only allow fully vaccinated students to come back to campus for offline classes. However, when it comes to students who are below 18, this rule will not apply.  
  3. In case students are still unvaccinated but want to come for offline classes, it is the responsibility of college Principal to contact the nearest ward office and set up a special camp for vaccination in college premises.
  4. Attendance has not been made mandatory yet and students can opt to continue online classes.  
  5. Teaching would be done in blended mode i.e., both online and offline. 

 

Since Vaccination is mandatory for students to attend the classes , Govenment has launched a vaccination drive for colleges.The drive--Mission Yuva Swasth Abhiyaan-- which has been jointly organised by the along with higher and technical education department will be conducted between October 25-November 2.Health minister said that there are roughly 5000 colleges under the higher and technical education department which include polytechnic, ITI's and other affiliated institutions as well and there are nearly 40 lakh 18+ students enrolled in these colleges.

The mode of examination for upcoming exams is totally depend on the functioning of the offline classes. Last time when offline classes were commenced , the second wave of covid started therefore all the things were shifted back to the online mode.

If all things goes well then there are chances that examinations may conducted in Offline mode with 50 % seating capacity of hall and following all the protocols.
