University Reduces Syllabus of Various Courses For Exams; Engineering, Pharmacy, Commerce Students Check Full syllabus detailes, here

 

Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has decided to reduce the syllabus by 30 percent for the Bachelor of Science (BSc) examination. The decision was taken considering the technical glitches and delayed term-end.

TThe portion for third year B.Sc and technology is yet to get over. While for the rest of the subjects it is completed. Similarly, it is necessary to conduct practical examinations to declare the results on time. So it was decided to conduct an examination on 70% of the syllabus.

Manohar Chaskar, dean, faculty of science and technology said, “BSc examination will be conducted on 70% syllabus but for engineering and pharmacy, students will have 100% syllabus.”

The teaching for the second semester is yet to get over and thus the students had demanded to first complete the portion. On this background vice-chancellor, Nitin Karmalkar conducted a meeting with the colleges and took the decision.

The portion for third year B.Sc and technology is yet to get over. While for the rest of the subjects it is completed. Similarly, it is necessary to conduct practical examinations to declare the results on time. So it was decided to conduct an examination on 70% of the syllabus.

Commerce stream to have 100% syllabus

The various branches that come under the commerce stream have finished the teaching and thus the examination would be conducted for 100% syllabus. The decision regarding humanities is also pending.

“Nearly, 90% of the syllabus has been taught to Bcom, Mcom and MBA students. Thus, there is no need to reduce the syllabus for them”, said Parag Kalkar, dean, faculty of commerce and management.
