The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced a new policy that will allow students to pursue mathematics, physics and chemistry (PCM) in the 12th standard.

Now, if you want to pursue a career as an engineer, you will be able to pursue mathematics, physics, chemistry (PCM) in 12th standard. A similar policy has been announced by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Therefore, to become an engineer, one does not have to have subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, these subjects have now been made optional, so the big obstacle in front of the students has now been removed.

According to the current rules, if you want to get admission in engineering, you have to have three subjects in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (PCM). That hurdle has now been overcome with the new policy of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has released a handbook for the year 2021-22. It provides information on what subjects are required for admission to engineering. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, IT, Biology, Informatics Practice, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Business Studies and Engineering Graphics will be available for any of the three subjects.

Ordinary students need 45 per cent marks and backward class students 40 per cent marks for admission to engineering. While the new decision of the All India Council for Technical Education is being welcomed by some quarters, it is being resented by some quarters. According to some experts, the decision of the All India Council for Technical Education will reduce the quality of engineering students.
