UGC is soon going to release notification on dual degree from Indian and foreign educational institutions. The academic collaboration will allow students to opt for Joint degree, Dual degree and Twinning programmes.
Indian students can earn dual degree from Indian and foreign higher educational institutions. The dual degree can be earned for separate courses simultaneously. The Government of India is taking initiatives in this regard to collaborating with foreign institutions.
The collaboration between Indian and foreign institutions will enable the benefit of credit transfer and joint degrees. Soon it is going to be notified by the University Grand Commission [UGC]. The commission has already finalized the regulatory draft for these programmes and collaboration.
The academic collaboration will offer Joint degree, Dual degree and Twinning programmes. According to the UGC regulations, a degree obtained through collaboration will be equivalent to any corresponding degree provided by Indian higher education institutions.
