University SPPU to take students & Parents opinion to reopen institutions : SPPU
SPPU planning to reopen institutions affilated to itself in graded manner . They have decided to first continue with the practical sessions in offline mode. SPPU has planned to hold practical sessions in various colleges from December end and physical classes from January 2021.
Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is thinking about reopening of institutions , University taking opinion of students of instititions affilated to it.The varsity’s vice chancellor had chaired meetings with college principals and heads regarding this topic.
NS Umarani, pro vice chancellor, SPPU, said, “We have decided on circulating a Google Forms survey among students through respective colleges to seek their viewpoint on reopening colleges.Information on completed syllabus will also be taken into consideration to help us chart future course of action.”
Classes will begin with 33 per cent capacity, with batches attending lectures in rotational manner. Proper safety precautions , sanitising protocols should be followed. But accomodation decision is yet to be taken for outstation students.
Online education will continue even after reopening of institutions for those who cannot attend the offline classes.
Rajendra Zunjarrao, principal, Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce, said, “While we are ready to reopen colleges , we will start with practical sessions. Holding practical classes online has been a challenge. We will extend the facillity of physical classes to other courses in a graded manner"
