UGC Academic Year 2020-21: Odd semester classes to begin by November 18

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recently issued a notice on its official website about resuming classes for all affiliated colleges and universities. As per the notice, classes for odd semester are likely to start from 18 November. The Commission had earlier also informed all affiliated universities that classes for all students for the academic session 2020-2021 are likely to start in November. Institutions also have to complete the admission process for this session by 31 October

It has been instructed by the UGC that on completion of the admission process by October 30, all universities should start their classes from November 1. If the admission process is delayed, colleges can start classes from 18 November. According to the notice issued by the UGC, universities may have to hold classes for 6 days a week for academic loss due to the ongoing Kovid-19 epidemic.

Classes for all UGC affiliated universities are likely to start by November 18, but due to the ongoing Kovid-19 epidemic, classes will be held in mixed mode for this semester

 

Universities will be free to conduct classes in online or offline mode as per the convenience of students or teachers. In the event of cancellation of admission, universities will have to refund the full fees. The UGC has also directed that merit-based admissions in all affiliated colleges should be completed by 31 October, so that there is no loss of academic year for the students as well as the faculty.

 

Universities and colleges across the country have been closed since March due to the Kovid-19 epidemic and online classes and online examinations are being conducted to reduce the risk of infection.
